Give Me A Hand
Supplies
Plaster of Paris
Rubber craft gloves
Measuring cups
Disposable plastic container (old milk cartons are perfect)
Large spoon or wooden paint stirrer
Old newspaper
Old tennis ball or rubber ball
Optional -
Black, green and gray tempera paint
Wire twists (from bread bag to close gloves)
5 wires chenille stems
Directions
Mix according to directions -
Pour into two gloves
Stick chenilles down into to each finger for support (wire chenille should stick out of the top of the glove)
Close the top of the glove with twisty
In about 5 minutes, the plaster will begin to harden
Use the ball to make a "palm" in the middle of the glove
Mold the fingers as it dries as you would clay to get the right shape
Keep using the ball and molding the fingers until the plaster is too hard to mold
Let dry 12 hrs. before removing rubber glove
Cut ends of chenilles off (Don't worry if a finger falls off, you can glue it back
on with a multi-
or leave it off and paint the broken end with red paint -
Paint the hand gray
Add black and green paint for accent
Glue on the nails, if used
The hand can be used as a candy dish or decoration
